The World’s Thinnest House

A four-storey tall house with one bedroom, one lounge, one bathroom, and one kitchen, seems generous if you’re imagining something that looks normal.

But for a house that measures 60-inch wide and 40-feet long, ‘normal’ is definitely out of the question.

Filling a narrow alley in Warsaw, Poland, with a house, is architect, Jakub Szczesny.

“I saw the gap and just thought it needed filling. It will be used by artists,” Szczesny said.

This house would be built between two buildings, have ladders as staircases, and would be a place that might be tough to throw big house-warming parties after moving in.

Being the first to occupy this world’s thinnest house would be Isreali writer, Etgar Keret.

Once this thin house is built, it would take over the current narrowest house in the world, The Wedge. The Wedge is 47-inches wide in the front, but spreads to 22-feet behind, and is located on the island of Great Cumbrae, off the North Ayrshire coast of Scotland.
